Research Tips and Strategies

Research can be nearly as difficult as actually working on the paper. If you're working on a paper or are doing research for an article you will spend at least half of your time actually doing the research and taking notes on the subject. Good research involves many factors, among them good organization skills, finding source material that fits the topic you are writing about and figuring out whether the information is accurate or inaccurate

When you are doing research, you need to have an idea of what you are looking for. The purpose of research is to answer a question you might have about something. Write the question down. If you cannot think of a good question, try learning more about the background of the subject you are researching. If the question covers too broad an area, try to narrow it down. If the question is too specific, you might want to look for more background information.
